How to Fix Printer Authentication in the Keychain (macOS)

When your Mac doesn't print and puts the error down as "Hold for Authentication", this usually coincides when your password expires or changes. Here's how to get printing to work again on your Mac. 

1. Open up Keychain Access using the Mac's Spotlight Feature. You can access Spotlight either by clicking on the magnifying glass on the top right, or by pressing Command + Space on the keyboard. 

2. Scroll down until you see the printer's name. Usually, it will have an @ icon by the side of it.

3. Right click and press Delete. 

4. Press delete on the "Are you sure" dialogue.

The credential should be deleted.

5. When printing next, please ensure that the name is your e-number with a blue\ behind it. (i.e. blue\e1234567) and enter your password. Make sure that you click on Remember this password in my keychain.
